When you’re getting ready to pack your bags to go to Hilton Head, you’ll want to have a short checklist of the things that you’ll need. While it ultimately depends on the time of the year that you’ll be visiting, you’ll want to bring light clothing that you can layer. Be sure to back your swimming suit, beach clothes, a light sweater or jacket, and casual attire, as well as any dresses or nicer clothes for dinners out on the town. If you’re golfing don’t forget a collared shirt and golf shoes. Also, bring comfortable shoes to walk in as well as sandals for the beach. Outside of clothing you’ll want to bring a first aid kit, sunscreen, bug spray, makeup products, bathing essentials (shampoo, conditioner, soap), hand sanitizer, a hat, sunglasses, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a bag for the beach. If you’re driving, grab some extra paper products, such as paper towels, toilet paper, tissue, and sanitizing cleaning wipes to bring to your vacation rental.
Start by choosing the area where you want to stay on Hilton Head. It’s a small island and everything is within easy reach from the mid-island communities. Once you’ve chosen your location, you’ll want to secure a vacation rental for your desired time frame. During the peak summer season, vacation rentals book up quickly so don’t hesitate to book once you find the perfect spot. After you book, start planning your itinerary based on what you’re going to want to do. There are a ton of things to do, events, and activities on the island. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time and secure your golf tee time in advance.
