49 Off Shore Drive

We enjoyed our stay at 59 Off Shore so much. We had our entire family, including my wife and myself, my mother,our two daughters and their families, including 2 grandchildren. This house is so roomy, there were 2 rooms where you can go if you need a little quiet space. The pool and hot tub were amazing. We would definitely like to come back.

Everything was perfect- even better than expected. The listing was accurate but we couldn’t picture the layout and were so happy with it when we arrived. The home has a very open feel with multiple seating areas. We were there for my daughter’s college graduation from Georgia Southern Savannah campus along with her best friends’s family. We had 11 adults and this house gave everyone the opportunity for plenty of together time while also giving us space to not be on top of each other. We really appreciated how the home was set up with 4 bedrooms essentially in different corners of the main floor with essentially 3 living rooms with seating outside of them. There also were 2 tables for eating in addition to the bar seating in the kitchen allowing everyone space to eat comfortably. The Master was huge with its own seating area and then there was another master room that is essentially the 2nd floor. I wasn’t sure of the layout when we arrived, but was so happy with the perfect way this accommodated multi families with adult children. The pool and hot tub made the property. Such a great outside area. It is 2 miles to the community beach parking and 1 mile to the closest beach access if walking. The free activities were great. We arranged for a bike to be waiting for us when we arrived and pick up when we left and that worked perfectly and was included. We had several golfers in the group and took advantage of the free round of golf each day on great courses. Loved everything!

The house was wonderful for hosting our generational cousins’ get together. Very well-stocked kitchen and spacious. Beds could be a bit comfier, but still a decent night’s sleep because everyone was able to spread out. Hot tub and pool fun, even during Christmas week. Beautiful grounds, just is a big drive to house once you get into Palmetto Dunes complex. Beach about a 20-minute pleasant walk. Kids enjoyed the General Store again on this visit too! :-)

We had a wonderful family Christmas at 49 Off Shore. This home comfortably slept 9 adults. We were so appreciative that we could include our mini dachshunds for the week as well. Beautiful and spacious kitchen and common areas as well as master suite. The kitchen had every pot, pan, appliance, glass, mug, serving utensil etc that we could have possibly needed. The weather was incredibly cold when we were there so we were thankful to have the hot tub. Only half of the jets worked, but we didn’t mind enough to bother maintenance to come out. The home space fit our needs and was very comfortable. The decor and condition of the home was acceptable. The distance to the beach was inconvenient and would be the only reason I would not stay in the home. We did not use the shuttle which may have made it a little easier to get back and forth to the beach. We had other family members staying outside Palmetto Dunes and it was not convenient for them to come for quick visits. I did talk to the rental company prior to our visit and was under the impression we just had to notify guard we were having visitors. The guards would not let them through even though I notified them.

You do still need to have a day pass for them to gain access to the community due to security purposes which was explained to you. The shuttle is a wonderful way to get to the beach-definitely keep this in mind for the future! It is an on demand service. You can also park at the Dunes House and access the beach right there-its so convenient! We do hope you were able to enjoy the lovely sitting dock overlooking the lagoon and the oversized pool. The kitchen, aside from a smallish oven, was the best stocked kitchen of any vacation home we've ever stayed in. The pool was properly heated as was the hot tub - very important for a chilly November stay. A bike ride away from the beach - about ten minutes, and also about five to sometimes ten minutes drive out of the Palmetto Dunes resort depending on traffic. Great place and we would be happy to return to this home.

I wish the house had a hand mixer. We called maintenance about a ceiling fan issue and they came out however they arrived an hour after the scheduled appointment time and were not able to fix the problem. This ceiling fan was located in the 2nd floor bedroom. This bedroom was hot throughout our stay. My son purchased an oscillating fan from Walmart to make sleeping comfortable. The noice ordinance of the community is ludicrous. We are a large family and we talk loud. The requirement to leave the garage door closed was ridiculous. It was as an inconvenience. The police/security department was excessive. My husband had to visit the department to address an issue that occurred to us during our stay.

Thank you for the feedback Diane I am so sorry you encountered these issues. The gated communities such as Palmetto Dunes does have many rules to keep everyone safe and their visit enjoyable. Were we do no always agree with them they do still have to be followed. We will be sure to get a hand mixer in the home I am so sorry you did not have one during your stay. I am very happy to see the fan is now 100% fixed and shouldn't be a problem in the future.

My son, daughter-in-law, 4 young adult grandchildren under 21, their dog and I had a wonderful time! We rode bikes or took the Dune buggy to the beach everyday. We used the pool and hot tub morning, noon and night! We enjoyed watching the critters In the lagoon. The house was beautiful and spotless and all 4 bedrooms had their own bath. It was very roomy with many sitting, eating areas and nooks. The kitchen was gourmet and fully equipped! We were able to find everything we needed for all the meals my daughter-in-law cooked! We actually liked the beach at the closest beach access better than the beach at the Dune House. It was less crowded and more beautiful! If we could have rented beach chairs there instead of Dune House we would have. Overall, 49 Off Shore exceeded our expectations!!

My wife and I had our three sons and their wives meet at this location for a family who is close but living around the country. This location meet the needs we had. Each family had their own room and bathroom (not all actually attached). But having our own space, but having great connecting space for everyone to gather. Recommend getting bikes for the beach experience, otherwise it is about a 20 minute walk to the beach. Great home, great location (away from the busyness of the park it is in) and very spacious.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 49 Off Shore. Great accommodations and well-equipped. Having an electric hot tub that you don't have to pay extra to heat is a nice bonus.

Only complaint was thermostat in upstairs master would not allow you to set temp below 70. Not a big deal unless you are like me and like the room to be cool for sleep.

This house is great and the pics do not do it justice. The house was immaculate upon our arrival, and the pool was heated and ready for swimming. From the large bedrooms and bathrooms, the well stocked kitchen for cooking, it all was way better than any home we have rented in the past. The location is perfect! We had a great time during our Fall Break in this home. The house was really roomy, clean, updated - pics are not updated yet for the paint & updates done -new paint and furnishings. The new updates were a nice surprise when we arrived. We loved biking to the Dunes House and throughout the neighborhood. A lot of great golf too.

We loved staying at 49 Off Shore. The kitchen was well equipped and some of the areas have been updated. Would definitely rent here again. Unfortunately because of the Coronavirus we had to head home early which was very disappointing.

Many charming things about the house but some things not in the best condition and required having maintenance come in a few times. Also disappointing that the bridge to the beach was closed while there requiring us to drive to another location. Nice setting, lovely colors in rooms.

We are sorry that there were issues with the bridge, Palmetto Dunes is going into a massive over haul on the roads and pedestrian walk ways to make it more enjoyable for future guests. The owners are starting to update the home since they just bought it a few months ago is small sections. We are glad you did enjoy the home and thought it was charming. We look forward to welcoming you back again real soon.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 49 Offshore. The house was very clean and spacious, plenty of room. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and running or biking to the beach. We would definitely recommend to others!

Our stay was June 29-July 6, a BUSY week! The process was terrible to get our parking passes as there was only one person at check-in who was experienced, and the other was in training requiring so much help from the experienced person. We had a better experience other years when parking passes were sent to us in advance to avoid this. Upon arrival at the home to check in after the required 4 PM time, the housekeepers were still in the house hurrying to clean and they left us to enjoy our vacation house but it was not very clean. We were told that new ownership effective on our check in day changed all the previous internet and cable connections and this caused the housekeeping delay. We had to call the management company to help us get everything up and operational. The first day of our vacation was not a good experience, but we loved the rest of the week and the space in the house suited our family really well. The kitchen needs to be updated and most of the bathrooms also. Refrigerator needs replacement immediately! Property management helped us every time we had issues.

Palmetto Dunes has a new system where you do not receive your physical parking pass until you arrive into Palmetto Dunes. We had a great time here in HHI. The home is located in Palmetto Dunes and there is tons to do in the resort itself bike rentals, restaurants, golf courses and more. The staff at Vacation Homes of Hilton Head was also great to work with.

We like to stay in Palmetto Dunes so we were so happy to rent 49 Off Shore for our family vacation. The house is great, with a big pool and private hot tub. We would recommend to others.

The house was perfect for our party of six. The accommodations were clean and as described on the website. The rental company was easy to work with and we are thoroughly enjoying our stay. This property came with an Xplorie card which was a bonus. Was able to play a couple of complimentary rounds of golf and received a free weeklong bike rental. Would definitely stay here again.
