4 Surfwatch Way

This home was great for our large family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to have their own space while common areas are also large for when we wanted to be together. Everyone enjoyed the pool. Home was clean and management was quick to respond when we had a couple of questions. Loved the location and short walk to the beach. Everyone truly enjoyed our first trip to Hilton Head!

Everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. The house was perfect for our group of adults and children. Lots of games & pool fun and it is a 10 min walk to the beach! The fenced in yard is great for dogs! No complaints from anyone in our large group! Just make sure to bring or buy all of your food needs as there is nothing in the cupboards or fridge when you arrive. We made many visits to Whole Foods & other grocery stores which was very easy. Food delivery & restaurants are in abundance.

The house was nice and was very good sized. However, a bit outdated, and pictures not totally representative of current condition. For example, many kitchen cupboard hinges no longer working; there is no longer a bar outside by the pool, some of the furniture in the various rooms was worn down and a bit damaged, etc. Also, instructions indicated to clean the main room before check out; but vaccuum cleaner didn't work and couldn't find a broom or mop anywhere. Overall, though, a good rental.

We just returned from a fabulous family vacation at this property. The home is close to the beach, which was important to the younger members of my family. The home is also spacious and has been very well maintained. The backyard pool was also a hit with the younger members of my family. Also the fenced in back yard was a plus for pets and younger children. In addition, we have rented numerous homes from Vacation Homes of Hilton Head and have always found their team members to be extremely helpful, including if unexpected rental issues or concerns arise.

The house was very spacious plenty of room for everyone. The proximity to the beach was excellent. It was only about a 10 minute walk. The pool was a nice addition when the weather was not warm, the pool was!!

The staff was absolutely fantastic! It would have been nice to have had the number to call for the free options. With 12+ people, there should be more than 2 dishwasher pods and one packet of laundry detergent. Having more kitchen washcloths and towels should be left with the number of people that the house can accommodate. Overall, the house was great for our entire family because it is large, open with plenty of sleep space. We would definitely rent from VHHHI again!!

The house was a perfect place for a large group. There was plenty of space and rooms. The home was clean and in a good location. The pool was very nice and well maintained. The garage had plenty of room for cars and beach supply storage. We had a great vacation!! Our only two concerns were the lack of forks and teaspoons. There were only 13 forks for a house the sleeps 16. Also, there was an area in the back side of the house that was all dirt that turned to mud when it rained. That was a mess and could use grass, mulch or artificial grass. Something to keep the area clean.

This property was perfect for our family reunion! Was great having so many separate master suites all with their own bathroom so each family could have their own separate space. We all enjoyed the short walk to the beach as well! Our only real complaint was how uncomfortable the beds were. We could really feel the springs on all but 2 of the beds (on main floor) because those 2 beds had an external foam topper added to them. They could definitely stand to replace all of the beds to make them much more comfortable! Otherwise, a beautiful home!

My son, daughter, and their families to include my 4 grandchildren enjoyed the house, it’s location and neighborhood. The pool was the main attraction but the park next door and the beach just .2 miles down the street we’re high on the grands list of features.

Overall the property condition was good. Living room, dining room, and beds were comfortable and in good condition. Plenty of space, nice size dining room table. The kitchen is well stocked. The kids also really enjoyed the pool.
However, the outside furniture especially by the pool was very marginal. Bench seating was hard and the stools were basically unusable. Really needs more seating and more comfortable seating. Our beach chairs were more comfortable than allot of the outside seating.
Outside porch by the pool needs some work. Some of the wood is rotting and definitely needs to be re-stained.
One outside fan light did not work. The ceiling fan may be missing a remote control.
Blinds in one of the upstairs bedrooms also need to be replaced. They were all broken and basically stuck in the window.
These are the only real complaints of the house and none were deal breakers.
The property management was great and very responsive.
Overall it was a great stay and we would come back.

This house couldn’t be in a better spot on the island. Close to things including shopping restaurants and the beach without being overcrowded like the Calignay park area. House is laid out perfectly for multiple families and lots of room to have your own space. We made many meals and spent a lot of time by the pool. Parking is great. Great house. Kitchen was fully stocked ,lots of room, comfy beds. The outside tv was broken which caused us not to use the outdoor space since we were watching the World Series, but we were told of the problem when we arrived and that a replacement would be there ina few days. That didn’t happen but it was fine. The house had a tv in almost every room and they were huge!
The beach walk was not long but the beach access was hard to navigate as it was deep sand and a good part of the walk. It was hard to drag a beach cart or cooler but the beach space was amazing!
The rental company bent over backwards for me as I called many times before we left with questions. Their staff was always so nice and helpful.
We had a wonderful time and loved this house!

We loved the property and our stay there. The only improvement we would suggest is better controls for heating the pool and a better way to use the garage doors. We had some in our group who had to use the elevator.

the house was huge and comfortable for the family of 12. lots of rooms, beds and gorgeous spacious bathrooms. location to beach was fine for us, walkable and easy to see sunrises/sunsets. great location. beautfiful burkes beach offer chair rentals (which is good bc house does not provide). the kitchen was not well maintained and was a little dirty - not from the cleaners, but dirt from being old and not maintained. the vent above the stove did not have a cover so the filter was visible and one of the burners did not work. the ice maker did not work - or went so slow. given the size of house and number of people, this was a problem bc we had to keep going out to get ice. alos they would heat hot tub bc said that we needed to give two weeks notice for that (confusing?). if owners put a little care to update outdoor kitchen, landscape, outdoor furniutre it would be aazing. this house has great bones. i would rent again, but this time i know what i am gettng. i would compare the prive to similar houses to see if they are better maintained. otherwise this house was great -

We were very impressed with this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to travel with a group! Our group was 16 people- 8 kids and 8 adults, and the layout of the house was fantastic. The bedroom placement allowed for all parties in our group to have privacy and a little bit of quiet when needed. The house was clean, large, and comfortable, and had everything we needed. When we called for a few minor things (coffeepot and broom) they were there within minutes to replace. Having stayed other places, this kind of communication and delivery is rare. The pool area and the patio was awesome! We had a lot of jellyfish stings at the beach so ended up using the pool even more than anticipated. It was great to have space and seating for everyone, and while the pool isn't huge, it worked well for us! It's shaded almost 100% of the time so that was great for the heat. The four stars for location might be a tad unfair- we knew going in this wasn't "on" the beach, but the walk was a pain with 8 kids. We have previously stayed closer to Coligny and had a much shorter walk to the beach. However, this house did have a wagon that we could load up for the trek, which was helpful. The park across the street was good for our kids to play, so that was a huge plus. Overall, you will not regret this rental! We would come back in a heartbeat!

This is a fabulous home, clean and very convenient to the beach. It is a quick walk to a semi-private beach (no public parking). The beda are all comfy and the outdoor space is the best!!! We would definitely go back!

13 of us had a wonderful time quarantining in a different place. There was plenty a room. The home was beautiful and close to necessities. The best part was that the beach was on the edge of of the crowded areas so it was much less peoplely.

Perfect house for a big family. The pool was amazing after a day at the beach along with the outside radio and grill. Ping pong was a family favorite! Took advantage of the wagon to pull things to the beach as it is a little bit of a walk. Our family made some great memories!

Overall, this is a fabulous home for a family vacation. It’s spacious, clean and close to the beach. The only area for improvement would be a couple updates to small items (new pots and pans, minor maintenance to the grill area, and outdoor cushions). We loved our stay and would come back.

We travel annually with 3 other families. It is rare to find an affordable house where all four couples can have a king sized bed and en suite bathroom. We went in early October and had beautiful weather 3 out of 4 days. Ocean was still warm enough but not too hot to be outside. We enjoyed the hot tub, easy access to the bike path and park, and the short walk/ride to the beach. The only thing that wasn't clear from the online description was that the upper living room is open so those on the floor below can hear everything going on above. We generally like to have a den where the kids in our group can gather and be noisy without disturbing the adults. This did not serve that purpose. Otherwise we were extremely happy with the house, location and interactions with management.

This property was spacious, clean, and beautifully furnished. The house was excellent for our family (7 adults, 3 young children) with ample space for everyone. The layout allowed for private, separated sleeping quarters for each group as well as private bathrooms. The kitchen was stocked with every imaginable piece of equipment and was roomy enough for several people to prepare food simultaneously. There was a very private backyard with a pool that was enjoyed by all. It was a short walk to a beautiful uncrowded beach. We had access to plenty of pool toys as well as several beach chairs, a beach cart, and beach toys. Many grocery stores were nearby as were plenty of restaurants. We enjoyed our stay so much, we have already reserved the house for next summer!!

Jim and Margot's house is wonderful. It was clean, well equipped and ready for us when we arrived. The elevator made it especially comfortable for us (we are all in our seventies or eighties), and each of the five bedrooms that we used had a bathroom en suite or nearby. The living/dining/kitchen area has beautiful windows so the rooms were filled with natural light and comfortably furnished. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub too. And the beach is a short walk away. Jim and Margot were very responsive to questions or concerns. Their house was perfect for us.

Absolutely loved the house! So much space, not only does it comfortable sleep 12 adults, 4 children and a baby - the house is comfortable for that many people to hang out, enjoy meals and play games. We had 5 couples and 1 single friend and never felt on top of each other at all. The outdoor area was awesome to hangout and grill. Lots of amenities included in the house including two separate living rooms with big screen TV’s (we were there during March madness so it was important) but each bedroom has a tv and a separate bathroom. The beach was an easy 5 minute walk. When we return we hope this house will be available to us!

Our 65 and older tennis team...mostly older with their better halves enjoyed it all. All we needed was in reach. We even had a Brazilian Barbercue in the outdoor kitchen by the pool which we could have used since it was warm enough. Been there done that. No one took a dip but we enjoyed sitting outside around the wrap around table with our chef. Elevator is slow but faster than some of us going up stairs so staying up stairs was not a problem. Great place for 5 couples or maybe six who will share a bathroom.

I would stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone! We had a group of 11 and it was more than enough space. Everything was clean and comfortable and quality. We thought the pictures didn’t do the house justice- the house is big and bright. Communication was good. I would definitely recommend Peddling Pelicans for bike rentals. Skull Creek Boathouse was great too but they stay busy so go early!

This house was perfect for 6 adults and 5 kids:4, 3 and three 16 mo olds. Having cribs and high chairs was great! We all had our own separate space and gathering spaces. The fenced in yard was great for dog and kids. Short walk to beach. Jim and Margot maintain the property and attend to any problems immediately. You don’t always get that kind of service from other rental places. They encourage you to report anything from a lifted nailhead on the deck to an appliance failure and they take care of it. I am 100% satisfied with my vacation experience!!!

We just enjoyed a great week at this gorgeous home! The pictures on the website do not do this house justice. The decor is so beautiful and relaxing. 8 adults, 3 teens and one child loved every bit of this house. Each couple had their own BR/BR and the kids loved the bunk beds. The spacious living space and kitchen were the gathering room for all our dinners, game nights and family dance offs. We spent so much of our time outside...pool, hot tub, walking the beach and biking the island. HHI has so much to offer. Great location on the Island, great restaurants nearby, simple walk to beach, shopping all around. I cannot say enough about HHI. Just wish our vacation was longer...hope to be back next year!

My group of fellow golfers thoroughly enjoyed our stay during that last week of March to enjoy the Island and play a few rounds of golf. The house was perfect for our needs and allowed us to stay together and enjoy the amenities. The house was very clean and fully stocked with everything that we needed. We liked the mid island location and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a similar experience. The only negative that I would bring up is that we were not able to turn on the heat for the hot tub, as it required a special code which you had to pay extra for. I would admit that I didn't research this prior to our stay and would have been happy to pay for this feature, but we did find it inconvenient and not worth contacting the owner to obtain the code. Otherwise, the stay was well worth the cost and we'd do it again if the opportunity presented itself!!

We stayed at this lovely home over the Christmas holiday and everything was absolutely perfect! This home could not have met our needs better. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed for a family holiday dinner and the great room (kitchen, dining room, living room ) was open and large enough for our whole family to mingle and just be together. We loved the den upstairs so the kids could get away to their own space. The house is so close to a beautiful beach and it is convenient to anywhere on the island. The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The door code given to me before arriving didn't work. That was quickly fixed with a phone call to the owner. We cooked most of our meals at the house and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, pans and dinner ware. The starter on the outdoor gas grill did not work, that was remedied by using a match. The larger beds were very comfortable, the bunk beds not so much. The home is spacious and beautifully decorated with plenty of room to spread out. The open kitchen and dinning area provided a great space for having meals all together. The pool, hot tub and beach which was about a ten minute walk from the house provided fun water play and relaxation. The two times that I needed to contact the home owner, she responded very quickly. Everyone from the 70 year old to the 10 year old had an awesome time. We would diffently rent this house again.

The house was great for my family of 15!! We had several babies so we needed all the space!! Kitchen was adequately supplied lots of plates and such. We really loved the outside grill. The pool was good we just need one a little bigger. The beds in the two master rooms were awesome. The upstairs were not quite as comfortable. We had a couple of issues one with the pool and the other with a sudden lack of hot water but a quick text to Kristy and it was quickly fixed! Other reviews said the house was dirty we did not find that to be the case at all. It's a bit of a walk to the beach especially with babies but all the extras the house had helped tremendously. Couldn't ask for more with this house. Everything your big family will need for this trip is included in this house. Sometimes its the little things that make a difference and this house has lots of them. They've got a pet gate, full crib, multiple pack & plays, bed rails, elevator, equipment for hauling your stuff to the beach, and just about everything else you can think of, tucked away somewhere in this huge house. Also, it was hard to tell from the pictures online, but the back yard is fully fenced in and was just big enough for our dog to do his business. Hopefully that information will help anybody else who's looking to bring their furry family member along. The pool area was great. We had both the hot tub and pool heated for our stay, and it was very nice and comfortable. The pool gets a nice mix of sun and shade throughout the day. It was also very PRIVATE which was great. We've stayed in houses before where neighbors could see you in the pool (if they wanted to), but this house has a really nice, tall, privacy fence all the way around the back yard, and both lots beside them are just wooded, so it worked out great. Plenty of chairs and seating out there too. The grill out by the pool was HUGE and worked great. We grilled out burgers, steaks, and salmon on it and it did great. The walk to the beach wasn't bad. It might be 5 minutes if you're a quick walker, and walking by yourself. The walk was a bit longer for us but we were lugging a tent, beach toys, and 3 toddlers with us. You can take a bike path all the way to the beach access too, so its shady and don't have to worry about car traffic. Internet was super fast. At one point we had multiple iPads, computers, and phones sending pictures across all over the place without any issues. The WiFi range doesn't cover 100% of the house, but if you're anywhere near the main level family room you will be OK. Overall, a great house for our family of 6 adults & 3 toddlers. We could have definitely fit a few more families in this house without any issues! Already looking forward to next year and would definitely recommend this house to our friends!

Our stay was amazing. My husband and I had our wedding reception there and it could not have been better. We had our close family and friends over for dinner and dancing and the night went perfectly. The outside is a great place for a party; people can stay out of the action upstairs or in the action downstairs. The garage was perfect for all the kids to play. The covered patio was a great additional place for our guest to hang out. The house it self was also great! The 2nd floor living space is wide open and perfect for a party or just hanging out. Very big for all our guest's comfort and personal space. I will definitely look into again when needing lots of space for family and friends. Kristy is very nice and accommodating. Highly recommend!

This was a great house and all 5 families that came to this house wanted to stay longer! There are so many pros to this property. Plenty of bathrooms, dining space, and nooks to put the little kids in pack n' plays. The location couldn't be better for the price. Not a long walk at all to the beach and there is a perfect bike trail that leads you straight there. Great park for the kids to play on within walking distance. You can even bike to the grocery store. The only cons that I would list are not even that big of a deal. There is no mailbox. So, if you're like us and rely on Amazon Prime for just about everything, leave CLEAR instructions for the driver to leave on front porch and notate that there is no mailbox. We ordered something and it went to the resort next door. We figured it out and retrieved our package, but for some reason, the mailman notated that they left in the mailbox and there was no mailbox.... The only other thing is that the porches and porch furniture needs a good cleaning. Admittedly, though, it's hard to keep outdoor items clean, especially with all the pollen. For those with kids: Baby-proofing is pretty simple here. You can use a wall-to-wall pressure gate at the top and bottom of the stairs inside. Outside is pretty tricky. It's a very wide staircase, so you'd need an extra wide baby gate if you wanted to gate off the top of the stairs. There is not an alarm on the door going out to the pool, so if you have daring kids, I'd suggest making sure that one door is secure. I suppose you could just put a gate on the other side of the door itself. We didn't try that though. Wonderful home and we hope to stay there again!

Best. Rental experience. Ever. I love HHI and have rented many properties through the years. This year, we brought our great big extended family for a 50th birthday celebration. My siblings with young kids stayed at this house and absolutely loved it. The young cousins and their parents haven't stopped talking about the house and the memories made there. It is situated perfectly for multiple families with younger children. The bunk room was a favorite for all the cousins. Additionally, the upstairs living/loft area was great for the kids to congregate, watch TV, and play board games. There was enough space for each family to have alone and quiet time -- and, a large enough area on the main floor for all 20 of us (some stayed at other properties) to have dinner and a wonderful New Year's Eve celebration. We paid for the pool and hot tub to be heated, which was well worth the money. The kids (and adults) had a ball. The home is gorgeously decorated and fully equipped. It is a short walk to the beach and located close to most HHI restaurants and stores. The only caution is that the home has an elevator. We had to call it "off-limits" for the kids as it didn't always work properly. To be fair, the kids thought it was a ride and may have caused the hiccups. We really didn't need it anyway. You. Will. Love. It.

The home is absolutely beautiful we had the best time just hanging around the pool and relaxing to music. when we wanted to go the beach it was only 3 minutes down the road. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy dining in. I hoping we get to go again and enjoy another year there. The only thing we couldn't get to work was the big screen tv up stairs sitting area but didn't find that out until the last night we were there, but I'm sure if I called or emailed it would been fixed for us. The owner Kristy was very helpful and answered all my questions and made my first time renting a home a great experience. I give this house 5 stars loved it loved it.

Our family love spending the Christmas Holiday at Surf Side. This was our 3rd Christmas season here. What we enjoyed the most is the large common area where we can all be together. Whether you cooking, eating or just relaxing, no one is missing out on what is going on. The home is kept in excellent shape. This is a home out of a decorators magazine. Hi Kristy! I was part of the Sally O. ^ crew (noted above) that stayed in your (beautiful) beach house last month. It made me SO happy, sad, and wistful (all at the same time) to look at the pics of the house again just now ... really wishing we could be back to relive it all over again. :) Your home was everything described and more. Visitors from various parts of Pennsylvania, San Francisco, Houston, North Carolina, Maryland, Denver, & the DC-area stayed & celebrated there, and not one complaint was to be heard the whole week through, from any of us. And it was not only accommodating for us, but our young kids/babies, and old parents too (just kidding about the "old parents" thing. Haha! Gotcha, Aunt Sal!) :) The pool, the hot tub, the deck, the elevator (!!!), the garage spaces/ample parking, the gorgeous bedrooms & bathrooms, the "family rooms" -- wow! We had more fun at the outdoor bar every night, making dinner in the spacious kitchen, walking to the beach every day (& evening!), taking family pictures in the yard area & on the front steps ... truly, the list goes on here ... Each amenity was better than the other, and I know I speak on behalf of our entire (large) family to say we'd go back in a heartbeat. It was truly the stuff great vacations are made of, and know that we appreciate all the thoughtfulness that went in to making your beach home one that is suitable for so many different folks -- from so many different areas and age ranges. I can think of many occasions in which your home would be perfect, but it holds a special place in my heart as the *ultimate* family-reunion-beach-house. Thanks again, and please know that we absolutely loved it there, just as you do!

This house was fabulous! Excellently appointed with everything necessary and beautifully furnished. All of the furniture was comfy and cozy. We loved the grill and took advantage of it almost daily. Plenty of room for our entire gang of 17! Didn't utilize the game room in the garage as it was kind of stuffy, but had it rained more, we probably would have used it. Very private back yard with very nice pool and hot tub which definitely got plenty of use! Would highly recommend this house!

The owners listing title, "Magnificent New Seaside Estate", is spot on! This beautiful home was a delightful June retreat for my family and friends. There were 9 of us (no young children) plus our 2 dogs, yet this home is so spacious and so well laid-out that it never felt the least bit crowded and clearly could accommodate more than twice that number. It is elegantly yet comfortably furnished. The upstairs media room with surround sound was a huge hit with the young adults. The kitchen is just fanatastic. The property was clean and lovingly maintained. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

House was perfect for big group of people. Loved the open floor plan & large kitchen. Backyard extremely private & no neighbors to worry about noise. We had group of 10 guys for a golf trip and could not have been happier. Ample sleeping room & space for everyone. Elevator was great for getting supplies into kitchen as well. Would definitely look this house up first again for our next trip. Property manager Kristy was also extremely helpful. Only negative was their was no power to outside stereo (not owner's fault, as obviously was just a power issue) & no music inside the house besides the television. Thanks!

We are frequent visitors to HH and have rented other homes, but this is definitely our favorite. It has every amenity, and we especially enjoyed the heated pool and spa in the lovely, and secluded, backyard. Another plus was having the rental agency nearby to answer any questions we had. Our whole family (grandkids ages 4-13) had a wonderful week here, and we all can't wait to come back!

This home is just as beautiful as described! It is appointed with warm furnishings to make you feel right at home. The kitchen was so well equipped that we took turns cooking dinner almost every night. It was fun to have all eight of us in the kitchen at once and nobody got in the way! We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor spaces, especially the hot tub. Although the weather was a bit cool, we spent time in the heated pool/hot tub and then turned the fireplace on and enjoyed "family"time in the gorgeous living room area. It was very peaceful to be located right across the street from the park. The beach is a short walk away and the bike paths are all over. Loved the giant garage by the way, since we rented eight bikes from Pedals. Two restuarants that we would recommend are The Old Fort Pub and Alexander's. Both were excellent! Just a couple of quirky things about the house included the TV up stairs, pool/spa programming and the outdoor grill. It would be great to have written instructions of how to operate the upstairs TV ( also maybe a DVD player) Ad pool programing. With both the TV and pool, after calling Hilton Head rentals we were able to figure out the operation. They were really quick to help. The out door grill needs some attention. We had a scary moment trying to light it and keep it going. Very nice party set up outside. We would definitely rent this property again. In fact, we don't want to say too many nice things about it or someone else will rent it and it won't be available to us!

Our large extended family, including six young children and small dogs, had the priviledge of staying at this lovely home last summer. From the moment we walked in, we were absolutely enchanted. The pictures do not do this home justice. It is extremely spacious and welcoming, with an grand open floor plan and serene decor. The kitchen absolutely magnificant, well-appointed and huge. You truly could cook a Thanksgiving dinner, just as the owner stated! The two entertainment areas are large enough for everyone to gather around the big screen or a cutthroat game of poker. The outdoor pool and grill got a lot of use and were perfect for our purposes. The kids had an absolute ball riding the elevator, and the grownups loved not having to haul groceries and luggage. My personal favorite thing about the house, though, was the dining room. We've looked at many, many vacation rentals, and have almost always found that there was no place for our whole family to share a meal. At this house, that was not a problem. The gorgeous table was more than large enough to fit us all comfortably, and made for a terrific end of day routine. All in all, this home was absolutely fabulous and I could not recommend it more.
