#1 - Fishing on Hilton Head
You can go on a boat charter, cast a line off a fishing pier, rent a canoe to go fishing in the areas lagoons and calm waters. If you’re looking for a fun excursion to go fishing, check out Daufuskie Island, which is a small island between Hilton Head and Savannah.
There are diverse types of species in the Hilton Head area that you can catch, including Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, Black Drum, Triple Tail, Spanish Mackerel, Blue Fish, and Flounder. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just want to get out on the water to give it a try, Hilton Head is a great spot for fishing.
#2 - Golfing on Hilton Head
Hilton Head and golf are synonymous. There are 24 golf courses on Hilton Head Island and more than 40 courses in the entire area. Plus, there are some of the most beautiful in the world here. Both of these spots, as well as the Palmetto Dunes Lagoon Channels, are ideal for beginners.
If you’re a bit more experienced, Caliogue Sound, and Skull Creek offer great opportunities to see wildlife. The most experienced kayakers may want to explore the waters to Daufuskie Island. You’ll head across the Calibogue Sound to the island, but keep in mind that you’ll have to deal with strong currents and boat traffic. Only go on this excursion if you’re a strong kayaker with lots of experience.
